Scottsdale Cottonwoods Resort & Suites 6160 N Scottsdale Rd. (480) 991-1414. Members $10. Guests $17. Cash bar. Great restaurant selection within a short walking distance for pre-dance diners. Live Music by Harry Mathews. We have had terrific feedback on this location.
Directions: Enter at the Rose Lane traffic light (1st light S. of Lincoln Dr) and proceed past the lobby to the Convention Center. This is also the entrance to the ASU Kerr Cultural Center. Parking may be allowed at the Cultural Center if no activity is scheduled. Recommended parking: Follow signs past the Convention Center and turn right into the Convention Center parking lot. Borgata parking in the underground garage is also very handy for those dining at the Borgata. The Convention Center parking is the easiest and shortest walk.
SFA provides live music at our dances for your listening and dancing pleasure. Back by popular demand is Harry Mathews for our June 13th dance. Live music just plain sounds better. The appreciation for music performed by humans instead of dispensed by machinery runs both ways. Performers thrive on the interaction with their audience, and we all know how well Harry does this. There’s nothing like it. There’s a high energy exchange that takes place between Harry and the crowd that you can’t duplicate anywhere else.
We always offer a quality event for you, our members and dancing guest. It does cost SFA more to put on our live music quality event dances….but we feel it is worth it.
