Backpacking and Outdoor Recreation Group
Lets go snow camping! We have the option of primitive cold tent camping or sleeping in a warm cozy Yurt. I was snowshoeing Artnord to Maples trail with an other group and ran into a nice big warm cozy Yurt about 17 feet in diameter that was built by the National Forest Service for backcountry adventures. Inside, It had a wooden floor, pot belly wood stove stocked with plenty of wood, a picnic table with benches, about 8 folding chairs, and sleeps 15 people comfortably. This is a great opportunity for first time winter campers to try winter camping because if its to cold for you, you have the option to sleep inside the Yurt. This is a easy backpack, we will go slow if needed for beginners. Lets go have fun, maybe even try to build a snow cave!
