Maybird Lakes hike- Little Cottonwood Canyon

You are invited on a scenic hike to Maybird Lakes in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
We will meet at the Wasatch 3500 E Park and Ride and possibly carpool.
We will climb to the South lake, rest, and have a little picnic there to socialize. Therefore, you may want to bring some food with you, or just snacks, if you prefer.
Make sure to bring plenty of water (at least 64 oz) and sunscreen.
Distance: 7.4 miles round trip
Elevation gain : 2,000 feet
Approx. walking time: 5 hrs round trip at a more leisurely pace
Difficulty level: Moderate
I have hiked this trail with beginners and a fairly mature and fit 9 year old, and they did great.
BTW, no dogs are allowed in Little or Big Cottonwood Canyons, so please leave your furry friends at home this time. However, we will be planning dog-friendly hikes in the near future.
