Come have a nice Saturday morning workout to help get fit or stay fit for upcoming multiday backpacks(I am going to post an easy overnighter march 13-14). Snowshoes or yaktrax strongly recommended. Can be rented at REI or Canyon Sports
Doughnut falls is a unique waterfall that plunges through a hole in the rock and into a grotto before cascading down the rocky drainage below.
Avalanche: low
Pace: easy to moderate
Difficulty: easy
Duration: ~3.0 hrs
Distance: ~4 miles round trip from Big Cottonwood Canyon Road
Access: no fees to access canyon or parking
Dogs: pets and horses prohibited in big cottonwood canyon to
protect watershed
Directions
From SLC’s east side, take 2-15 south
exit on 6200 south (exit 6)
east on 6200 S which changes to Wasatch Boulevard (UT190)
continue up Big Cottonwood Canyon for 9 miles
turn right at the Jordan pines picnic area
Going east on 6900 south will also take you to Big Cottonwood Road
