Come have a nice Saturday morning workout to help get fit or stay fit for upcoming muti-day backpacks.(I will be posting a easy overnighter on march 13-14) Snowshoe or yaktrax recommended, can be rented at REI or Canyon Sports.
A quiet wander among the thick evergreen (dense forsest scented spruce, fir, maple, gamble oaks at all elevations) and the view over the salt lake valley are the favorites aspects.
Pace: slow to moderate
Length: 4.8 miles round trip
Difficulty: moderate
Avalanche: low
Elevation @ TH: 5,785′
Top elevation: 7,024′
Elevation gain: 1,239′ over 2.4 miles
Scenery: wooded canyon, city overview
Dogs: dogs must be leashed on even # days and can be off leash on odd # days. On off leash days, please keep an eye on your dog because snowshoers cant turn on a dime and we we dont want dogs stepped on or hikers tripped by dogs.
