The Orlando 48 Hour Film Project
Filmmakers from all over the Orlando area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world.
Watch this past weekend’s masterpieces come to life on the big screen! We will unveil the first half of films on Wednesday, August 19 and the latter half on Thursday, August 20. Invite your friends, family and associates to enjoy the films and vote for their favorite flick.
Immediately following each screening, we invite all attendees to further enjoy the company of entertainment enthusiasts over delicious drinks and appetizers at the Red Star Tavern. The Tavern also resides inside the Orlando Fashion Square Mall (3461 E. Colonial Dr. Orlando, FL 32803), so there’s no need to light the fires and kick the tires. It’s the 48HFP way to go green!
The Meetup Connection
One of the filming crews was headed by my son-in-law. One of the locations was my at house and both my daughter and I were cast in the movie. The accompaning photo is of me in character as "Victor Lambe", a serial killer, with one of his victims. This was taken in my garage.
It was quite an accomplishment to create, cast, film, score and edit a film short (7- 10 mins.) in just 48 hours. It was an interesting experience. One I would like to share with my Meetup friends.
See you in the movies!
