"I am a huge fan of Anthony Bourdain?so with a visit to NYC, it was a must try for me!
Service – (A-) (for our waitress). Initially, the hostess sat us in this cubby -like hole in the corner, where you were secluded from the festivities of the restaurant – rather depressing actually so we were a bit disappointed. Good if you want to have a nice quiet conversation but we were there for the experience. Our waitress came by and saw the look of dismay in my B.F.’s eyes and moved us to a more a lively seat, a gesture very much appreciated.
Food – (A -) Food – TASTY! I had the Steak au Poivre – peppercorn steak, cooked perfectly med rare, with a peppercorn crust, spicy to the taste. My B.F. had the tuna. Crab cakes for appetizers – so flavorful. The chocolate mousse just melts in your mouth?but, I have to admit, food was excellent but almost like any French food. There wasn’t anything that really wowed me?.
***BUT***
Ambiance – (A+)?but it’s the ambiance and the experience that we came for! When we walked in, it truly resembled a Parisian Brasserie. The decor and the vibe could have taken me back to Paris. With so many cultures and languages in NYC, you might as well have been back in Paris at Les Halles. They even had lively music playing in the background. It would have been better if Anthony made an appearance
