Airboat ride and gator park W/ Mosaic (RSVP w/ Mosaic)
When: Sunday, Oct 19, 11 a.m. at Everglades Holiday Park
What: Join Mosaic for a day in the Everglades. Start with a picnic brunch at 11 a.m. After our bellies are full, we’ll board a 25 passenger covered airboat for a 1 hour tour of the River of Grass. This is an experience you’ll never forget. It’s like being totally free in one of the most beautiful habitats on earth. Feel the wind rush through your hair as we skim over water and sawgrass into the heart of the beautiful Everglades where nature literally surrounds you. There’s nothing like it on earth. Our experienced guides will point out the highlights along the trip such as the history of the Everglades and fascinating facts about the unique flora and fauna found here. Special stops are made along the way where we’ll see exotic birds and even alligators just feet from the boat. You’ll marvel in awe and learn something too! Directions: From the north or the south, take I-95 or the Florida Turnpike to I-595 west. Head west on I-595 to I-75 south. Continue south on I-75 to Griffin Road west. Head west on Griffin Road until it crosses over Route 27. This is where Griffin Road dead ends at the entrance to Everglades Holiday Park! Alternately- From the south, take I-75 North to Griffin Road West and keep going until you hit the Park. From the North, take the Sawgrass Expressway south until it merges with I-75 South. Exit Griffin Rd West and keep going until you hit the Park.
Bring: Picnic Brunch, hat, sun screen, insect repellent, camera and water.
Wear your Mosaic t-shirt to all Mosaic events. At one random event each month, participants wearing a Mosaic t-shirt will receive a $3 discount on the event.
Cost: $15 for Mosaic members-$20 for non-members, $10 for children 12-17.
