I think we can all agree that we are thankful that our families and children are healthy…and for the most part, the challenges they face are ones they create themselves. Not all parents can say that. Some children are born with birth defects or health issues that make each day a challenge for them. WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO HELP THOSE FAMILIES BY RAISING MONEY FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS OF INDIANA. Special Olympics Indiana is a not-for-profit organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in more than 20 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, reaching nearly 10,000 athletes across Indiana.
The FedEx Plane Pull Challenge is a fun, wacky, giant tug-of-war between us and a 147,000 lb. FedEx Boeing 727. The event raises funds and awareness for nearly 10,000 Special Olympics athletes in Indiana. Don’t miss the fun as we compete against other teams to pull a jumbo jet a distance of 12 feet across the tarmac in the least amount of time! Check out the links below to see last years event.
To participate, each team must raise $1,000 in pledges. You can have up to 20 people on a team. That means each person would need to raise $50 (or donate it themselves!). OR does anyone have an employer who would sponsor our team?? That would be awesome!!!
Michele LaPorte will be our team captain. She helps care for a Special Olympian who will be the VIP for our team. His name is Ken soooooo, our team name is Ken’s Crew. Michele is working on getting permission for Ken to participate on our team. We will have shirts made up that say Ken’s Crew on them which will be an additonal fee (probably about $15 or less unless we get them donated or sponsored by someone).
I know this seems like alot of money but we can do this folks! Ask just 10 people that you know for $5 each. That would cover your portion of the entry fee.
