I know - I’m crazy, I admit it.
Here’s the scoop. Spencer & I saw this band last year at the Soiled Dove - an underground concert hall out near Stapleton. IT WAS AMAZING AND A TOTAL BLAST. He was 6 when he saw them. This group is very family friendly, a great stage show- super lyrics for kids- AND songs for Adults.
I’m going- it’s not even my weekend with him, and we’re going. His mom is cool enough to allow us this special concert. I know, it’s money, yep yep, I’m in the same boat - money is tight. Well, we’ll do plenty more free and low cost events coming up and over the Spring & Summer. So I’m splurging on this one and going.
I’ve got some helpful hints if you have really young ones. I like to expose my Spencer to lots of different cultural experiences, and live music is one of them.
Read below if there is any chance you can or would go. We’d be glad to carpool with you from the Arvada area or Sheridan & Hwy 36.
This link has songs and videos you can preview to get an idea of their style.

Denver - Ryan Shupe dubbed his group of extraordinary musicians the RubberBand to describe their ability to stretch out musically in all directions. This high-energy quintet from Salt Lake City will take over the stage at Swallow Hill.
Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand have built a reputation for wowing audiences as they ping their music back and forth with joyful spontaneity; creating a concert experience that stays with you long after the show has ended, proving that "Rubber" can indeed stick to you like glue.
Intentionally avoiding the "over-produced" tendencies of today’s music, Ryan Shupe and the RubberBand have built an organic approach to performing that has earned them quite a following throughout the West and around the country. "It’s a musician’s music," says Shupe, "but it’s also for people who want a good tune…If you’re a musician you like it, because it has complex arrangements and things that are different than what’s out there… doing a rock country hybrid with banjo and fiddle. But you’re still getting the songs that you’d like to hear played on the radio." The group has already produced one Top 15 Country single with their track "Dream Big" and is currently working on a new album.
New folk/bluegrass/country music quartet, Finders & Youngberg, will open the show.
