Annual Dues are now due for BCSP

Annual Dues are now required for the Boulder County Single Parents Meetup Group.
This is NOT really a meetup event – it’s how I post how to pay the dues.

As you should see we try and have 5-8 events per month both for kids and just adults. I also have a great list of where KIDS EAT FREE or cheap – in the Files section on the left hand side. Click, look for the file, download it, print it – and here’s what I do – put it in the glovebox of your car for easy reference.

BONUS: when you sign up and pay the $7 for June through December 2010 – you’ll also get an AMAZING LIST of FREE THINGS to do in DENVER/METRO including our Boulder AREA- free live music events/days at museums/ fairs/ family – it’s 12 pages and that alone is worth the $7.00.

Some groups if you notice charge $1 per event. Instead of bothering with the nickle & dime you method, we chose one annual due in hopes that you are attending 1-2 events per month. Dues are effectively $1 per month collected one time per year making it $12/year per FAMILY. Since it’s February already, that means let’s just make it $10/family for all of 2010.

AND THERE IS A GUARANTEE – YEP – if you come to any 3 events in 2010 and you find this group just isn’t working out for you – after you e-mail me some advise, reasons or whatever, I’ll refund your whole year. That encourages you to attend and really try us out.

If someone joins in June, then it’s $7 for access to our calendar of events. We know there are members that have not yet been to any events. We also know that usually, once you go to any event, you realize it’s an easy going group that’s simply here to support you as a single parent doing your best to raise your kids.

The reason we are charging is simply to cover costs of operating this meetup site, and for the time it takes to plan and coordinate events. Hopefully, there will be enough members so that we can have some ‘free’ events where there would have been fees. We sometimes get FREE tickets to bowling events or comedy nights – and share them with YOU – our members!

With enough members, there might be opportunity for us to pay for the coordinators costs of an event. Thus, it’s great if you should want to become an assistant and help with events- we hope we can pay for some of the events.

Just like life, you get out of it what you put into it. We hope you’ll start ‘putting into’ our group with your participation, your event ideas, concepts on how to build more community within our group and anything else you think is pertinent. I’ll listen and share with our members as necessary.

Future Event Ideas:
Summer Camping trips
Co-Op a Baby sitter and parents go out
Movie Nights
Dinner Nights where kids eat free or discounted
Kids clothes exchanges ( I have size 4/5/6 boys and need size 7/8)- anyone?
More Parent nights out
Family friendly concerts or Adults only concerts
Afternoon hikes
And so much more

Payment methods.
1) Paypal- if you’ve never used this before, it’s not as difficult as you may think. You can use your credit card or even a check and it will securely charge your account and put the money directly into my Paypal account without me seeing any of your personal information. It’s quick, easy, and very trackable.
You can make a payment to me directly to my e-mail on Paypal : scott.johnson@coloradotele.com

2) Check – mail a check for $7 to Scott Johnson, 6835 W. 76th Place, Arvada, CO 80003. Yes, please make the check out to Scott Johnson also, I’ve already paid for the site so it stays active.
After you’ve paid, you’ll have the description of “Paid Member 2010” put under your name.

I will be removing members that have not paid at the end of July- maybe, if I bother. Hopefully attending an event or two and knowing things that are going on in your community is worth the $1/month.

If you don’t want to be a member, then please, remove yourself. If you can’t do that, then be sure to let me know who you are, and what city is your hometown in case there are others with the same name as you. I’ll remove you. If you send me an e-mail through Meetup then it’s easier to know exactly who you are and I’ll remove you. Contact me directly at ScottJ@Coloradotele.com with any questions or concerns.

We’re having a great time, hope you’ll join us!

Sincerely,

Scott D. Johnson
