This is such a great trip. If you RSVP, I need full names and you need to call in your 1/2 deposit to River Expeditions right away. The first 60 to pay deposits are off to WV for a partying and very fun weekend. After that it is up to the rafting co. if they have room for more. E-mail me your full name or write it in your comments when you RSVP. We are almost sold out of spot’s already. Camp Friday and Saturday nights and raft Saturday July 12 on the Lower New River. The cost is $128.20 person, including three meals and entertainment. Big white water fun. This is an annual trip and this year we are planning for 60+ to make the 4-hour drive to Beckley, WV for a wild and fun weekend. Plan to take a half day of work for the Friday car pool / caravan trip. We will need to get some of us there early to rope off and hold a large area in a good spot at the camp ground for our group. This does make a difference in our fun! Oh yea - for those not desiring to camp, there are nearby hotels, and you can also rent screened shelters houses / cabins at the camp site you can rent if you get on it early. But building our own little tent city is the way to go. There are hot showers, hot meals, and good times to be had. The camp site even has The Red Dog Saloon with full bar and entertainment to enjoy. There is also a swimming pool.
Sunday will be horseback riding for those interested, in the State/Federal Park reserve - beautiful sights!
I will need those planning to call in to make their reservations and put down deposits by March 31, 2008, or the cost goes from $128.20 up $50. Deposit is a 1/2 payment. The remainder will be due by June 12 to the rafting company - Call in and pay them direct via credit card.
We will have a pre-trip happy hour on Wednesday July 9 so everyone can meet and get familiar, plan logisitics like ride sharing and for supplies, tents, etc. See the July 9 event to sign up for the pre-raft trip happy hour gathering at The Lodge Bar in thye Arena District.
