Acrylic Painting or Drawing Workshop, Taught by Nancy
Here’s another opportunity for you to learn how to paint or draw (note: this one is on Saturday). These are joint meetups with the art meetup and the Saturday classes are ongoing. We’ve got a nice group coming on Saturday afternoons, and we’d love to have you join us.
If you’re painting, you can complete a previously started painting or start a new one if this is your first time. Learning how to mix/blend colors, experimenting with different brush effects…there’s a lot to do when exploring the beauty of color and paint!
If you’re drawing, you’ll just need sketchbook, pencil and eraser.
Just let me know which one (drawing or painting) you’ll be doing so I can plan.
Any level of ability is welcome and you don’t have to take any of the other workshops before you take this one. Whatever level of ability you are, I will work with you to either teach you the basics or help you develop what you already know. So don’t be intimidated; it’s really a relaxed, fun atmosphere!
We’ll be meeting in Rocky River, at St. Thomas Lutheran School. It’s easy to find, close to Rocky River High School. The address is: 21211 Detroit Rd. Parking is in the back, and the school entrance is clearly labeled. We’ll meet in the art room. I’ll give more specifics to those who attend.
I’ll send out a detailed supply list to those who RSVP, but basically, if you’re painting, you’ll need a handful of paint tubes in different colors, a few round and flat brushes (different sizes), a palette (something to mix your paints, a paper plate will do), paper towels, water container and a canvas. Pat Catan’s sells all this, and you can choose the supplies that fit your budget.
Other important information:
1. Workshops will be 2 hours long, this one will be from 6:00-8:00 pm.
2. If you need to be a little late, no problem, just let me (Nancy) know ahead of time.
3. The cost for each workshop is $10 and you can pay by cash or check when you arrive.
4. I need to have an accurate head count of attendees in order to plan the workshop. If you say you’re coming, I am counting on you to show up. So please only RSVP "yes" if you’re really planning on attending, and update your RSVP if you need to change it prior to the RSVP deadline.
